Introducing Creme Egg Splat Cookies!

Think double choc chip cookies with dairymilk chocolate and a hint of creme egg gooeyness that everyone loves around Easter!!

  • 125 gram(s) dark chocolate (minimum 70% cocoa solids)
  • 150 gram(s) plain flour
  • 30 gram(s) cocoa powder (sieved)
  • teaspoon(s) bicarbonate of soda
  • 0.5 teaspoon(s) salt
  • 125 gram(s) butter (soft)
  • 75 gram(s) soft light brown sugar
  • 50 gram(s) white sugar
  • teaspoon(s) vanilla extract
  • medium egg(s) (cold from the fridge)
  • 1 BAG OF CHOCOLATE CHIPS

  1. Preheat the oven to 170°C/gas mark 3. Melt the 125g dark chocolate either in the microwave or in a heatproof dish over a pan of simmering water.
  2. Put the flour, cocoa, bicarbonate of soda and salt into a bowl.
  3. Whisk the butter and sugars in another bowl. Add the melted chocolate and mix together.
  4. Beat in the vanilla extract and cold egg, and then mix in the dry ingredients. Finally stir in the chocolate Splats or chips.
  5. Scoop out 12 equal-sized mounds - an ice cream scoop and a palette knife are the best tools for the job - and place on a lined baking sheet about 6cm apart. Do not flatten them.
  6. Cook for 18 minutes, testing with a cake tester to make sure it comes out semi-clean and not wet with cake batter. If you pierce a chocolate chip, try again.
  7. Leave to cool slightly on the baking sheet for 4-5 minutes, then transfer them to a cooling rack to harden as they cool.

These bad boys taste amazing!! Have one as soon as it comes out of the oven and leave the rest for later. Enjoy the splatty gooeyness and the chocolate chips!

Rose Gold Strappies

Strappy sandal heels have come into fashion and they've hit me with a bang. From the likes of Rihanna wearing an array of this type of footwear I have quickly become obsessed and have been searching for the perfect pair since the new year.

I think I've found that pair now!!

I've fallen in love with these Ruby Suedette Metallic Strap Peeptoe Heels from Boohoo.

Not too high but not too small of a heel either, these beautiful shoes are my new favourites. Metallic straps teamed with a suede body mean that they are versatile enough to suit any wardrobe colour choice.

Have you tried a style like this yet?

Makebelieve Tan

I've been wearing tan since I was about 15 and have made some pretty horrendous blunders along the way.

But I like to think that at the ripe age of 20 I can get my tan right, no streaks and no mess.

So for a few months I've been using St Moriz tanning mousse, but I may have discovered a new tan that I've fallen in love with.

Makebelieve number 4 tanning lotion rates that it will give you a deep but golden tan without any streaks or uneven colour.

I was slightly dubious when I first used it, it went on in a dark liquid form which was good for making sure you didn't miss a spot. I can't say I'm a fan of the smell but the results speak for themselves.

I woke up to find an even tan with not a hue of orange in site! I'm so pleased with this tan, it even tanned my legs to perfection which usually flop when tan gets on them, forever wanting to be pale.

Check out the difference from my pale arm to then tanned legs! Amazing

The only thing I don't like about this tan after seeing the results is the price, short term this is great if you have a special occasion to get tanned for, but if you're a serial tanner like myself then I fear I would get in serious debt with this one. Bummer.

You can get this tan from Lookfantastic

Magnifibres

So as some of you will know, I love false lashes. Big ones, little ones and even colourful ones (like my recent venture with Katy Perry), but in all honesty I've given up wearing them everyday now, it's just too much fuss.

This is where Magnifibres comes into play, I've had this product for about a week now and I really love them. Easy to use, you simply apply one later of mascara, then use the wand to apply the fibres like you would mascara and finish with another layer of mascara. Voila!! Longer, thicker lashes in under a minute. Love it! My new beauty miracle product.

You can get these from Beauty Expert

Creme Egg Brownies

So I can officially say it... I have a sweet tooth.

I love chocolate!! And I love brownies, so what better way to celebrate Easter than with some super delicious chocolate Creme Egg Brownies.

So me and Elliot had a rather in depth discussion on whether to opt for a Betty Crocker mix or not and came to the conclusion that we wouldn't cheat and that we'd make them from scratch.

3 large eggs
275g golden caster sugar
185g unsalted butter
185g best dark chocolate
85g plain flour
40g cocoa powder
6 Cadbury’s Crème eggs (cut in half)

So we melted the dark chocolate with the butter over a hob and mixed the eggs and sugar until it was thick like custard. We then added these together and began the mixing of the flour and cocoa powder.

Once smooth add to your tray of choice and cook for 15 minutes.

Whilst this is cooking take your eggs out of the fridge ( we found ours really hard to cut in half when they were cold ) Cutting them in half, ready to be put into the brownie mix.

Mmm so tempting to eat...

Must prevail and we add them to our semi cooked brownies and cook them for another 10 minutes until the creme eggs are are runny and gooey...

Now for the fun bit, tucking in. Hope you enjoy making these and above all, eating these this Easter :) you'll have a very happy house with these.
