Melissa Odabash Jewellery

It was birthday on the 16th May, so for the occasion my two best friends took me out for dinner and out popped a neatly wrapped present bag containing something beautiful. 

I've never heard of Melissa Obadash before but these girls got it so right! The colour of this Crystal Lotus Charm Bracelet caught my eye first, I love Rose Gold! It's such a summer colour, and goes with everything. 

Then I noticed the charm, it's stunning. With crystals encrusted within the lotus, it just sparkles so beautifully! And who can honestly say they don't like a bit of sparkle in their life?

I've took some time browsing through the Odabash collections and everything is gorgeous. The summer wear collection is definitely on my wish list now.

Panama Hatty's

If you love Mexican food then you are going to love this post.

Panama Hatty's has been one of my favourite restaurants for years now, so when the girls called me up for a catch up there was only one place to go. I brought Elliot along as he has never experienced how good the food here is before.

The first reason to love this place is the cocktails. They have always been a main reason to venture out so far and tonight we went hard on well, the hard stuff. 

The second reason being the food. For a starter we opted for nachos and cheesy garlic bread all shared between us.

For mains there was a mixture of meaty delights for the carnivores and a veggie option for me that didn't disappoint.

And both Sophie and I had fajitas, hers chicken, mine vegetable.


Ooo and for my favourite course Elliot, Sophie and myself went for the indulgent Melted Chocolate Fudge Cake and Rachel had the Cheesecake with summer berries.

Best thing of all, as a Natwest current account holder, they had sent me out a Tastecard as part of their advantages scheme. So as an avid eater outer, I was chuffed to discover that Panama Hatty's were indeed involved in the scheme with a 2 for 1 offer. So if you too have had a Tastecard sent out to you, then there's even more reason to get your hungry bum over to this Mexican haven... if the food pics above weren't enough to convince you. 

Celebrations

Guys, I finally passed my driving test!

What a relief that was, after years of having to get lifts and take the bus I am now legally allowed behind the wheel!

I got home to the biggest hug from Elliot followed by some amazing scrambled egg and prosecco that he'd gone out and bought whilst I was out driving. He had faith in me obviously!

We then gathered the troops and headed to the Fishpool Inn for some celebratory drinks and lovely food. (some of you might remember that I went here when I passed my theory)

We all shared a bottle of Pinot and scoured the menu.

I went for the Warm Crottin of Delamere's Goat Cheese with pistachios and a lemon doused salad. 

Sophie had the Tiger Prawn Pil Pil which smelled heavenly of garlic. 

Rachel opted for the Muncaster crab and smoked salmon parcel which was so well presented

And Elliot had a Ham and Leek soup to start. 

For our mains I had the Mediterranean vegetable lasagna with a side of onion rings. These were the best onion rings Rachel has ever had and I have to agree, they were so good.

And Sophie & Rachel went for pizzas cooked in their woodstone ovens, with Rachel opting for a shredded duck special and Sophie with beef.   

For pudding Sophie had a lemon sorbet and Rachel had an apple alternative. Whilst me and Elliot went for the Fishpool Sundae that contained cream, big chunks of hazelnut brownie, honeycomb icecream and chocolate sauce.

I had such a lovely night and it was really nice to celebrate another milestone with all of my favourite people. I'll be the designated driver next time guys, I promise.

Birthday Celebrations

My two best friends turned 22 in the last week and celebrations were in order!

First off it was Sophie's turn! Taking a long awaited trip to Liverpool for lots of drinks, some very weird dancing and some even wierder people.

For my make up I used my Naked Basics palette teamed with Katy Perry Lashes in Cool Kitty and my favourite MAC lipstick, RiRi Woo to finish. My dress was one that I'd had my eye on for ages and after a dress disaster the night before I quickly took advantage of ASOS' next day delivery and ordered this Love Swing Dress with Lace Insert (now on sale, always the way). 

To get my hair big and bouncy, I used my Sleep In Rollers and left them in for a few hours, applying some heat from my hair dryer just before removing them. 

Then we were off out! We started at Modu, where we were lead to our table filled with these cute white champagne glasses. Unfortunately these glasses weren't created for the lipstick wearers of the world. 

We had a dance and moved off to Baa Bar for some of their infamous shots, we opted for Monkey Brain which looked disgusting but tasted delicious. 

Our last stop was at Krazy House, there are some strange characters in there for sure. A lot of fancy dress parties must end up here at the end of the night so we looked a little out of place. Maybe we were the 'krazy' ones. 



Next it was Rachel's turn, opting for some good food at Gusto in Knutsford. This place is great for all sorts of affairs, a girly night, a date or as we witnessed, a meal for one after a long day of work. 

We started with what can only be described as garlic petals from heaven. Accompanied with a beautiful, melt in your mouth garlic butter, you simple pick and dip at these crispy and flavorsome petals. 

For mains I had Tagliatelle Arrabbiata with tomato chilli, mozzerella and basil with a side of courgette fries. If you've never had these before, then I can't recommend them enough. They're extremely moreish. 

Rachel and her sister Katie ordered two dishes to share, the Spaghetti Carbonara and a lovely pizza covered in mozzerella and chicken. 

Sophie (the carnivore) went for Hand Rolled Italian Meatballs with tomato sauce and spaghetti. 

I love pudding, no matter how much I've eaten, there will always be some room for something sweet. So Rachel had the amazing Bombolina, little deep fried donut balls with vanilla cream and a chocolate dip. Sophie had the Lemon Sorbet and I wanted something simple, so chose to just have a bowl of vanilla ice cream to end the meal. 

Btw, mocktails at this place are pretty substantial too. Some of us have work in the morning :P The Black Grape Sling and the Watermelon & Mint Sling went down a treat.
