Fashion Nails with Primark

There's not much that you can get for £1 these days.

But if you head over to your local Primark, then I implore you to pop one of these in your basket.

I didn't have high expectations for these nails to be honest, I though they would be a bit translucent and a flimsy once on. But I couldn't be more wrong.

They are the same quality as nails you'd spend nearly 10 times as much on and the colour is gorgeous. They also come with a small nail glue which still shocks me for a mere £1. These are great for an understated and chic finish. Not only that though, you'll find these same nails in a number of different shades and even some pretty gorgeous patterns that will be perfect for summer.

Have you tried Primark nails before? Leave your links :)

Bottle Green

Well my nail biting has been in full swing recently. I have no idea why but growing my nails has been a real struggle recently, maybe it's the stress of Christmas shopping...

These Elegant Touch Bottle Green nails were on offer in Superdrug and I couldn't resist. I also got a gorgeous creamy coral set as well that I'm going to pop on when these pop off.

They were a tad too long for me to start with so a bit of filing was necessary, but that was easy enough and I also avoided using the sticky tabs that come in these packs as, well, it's as effective as sticking them on with blue tac...utterly useless!

So yeah, these nails are gorgeous! They are a lovely shape and the colour is very festive for this time of year! I can see myself adding a bitor glitter to these in a week or so.

Nails Inc + Glamour

Don't you just love getting freebies in magazines! Especially when they are from such good quality brands like Nails Inc.

This Tate nail polish is a gorgeous deep red that, like all Nails Inc polishes, goes on smooth with a super glossy finish. With even just one layer, it's so highly pigmented that you feel you don't need another layer.

It'll look really nice for Christmas, just add some green or glitter and you're set.

Friday Favourites #37

I haven't done a Friday Favourites for 2 months now! I've missed it!

I've been struggling to find a decent platform to create them on when I'm on my MAC, so if any of you have any tips then send them over. I'm currently using SketchBookExpress.

So I've been looking a lot on TopShop recently and I think it's because the styles they have currently are very much up my street. They have a lot of the stuff I wouldn't ever pull off but I've spotted quite a few items I'd like to add to my wardrobe including this gorgeous Paisley Print Robe, which I think is actually meant to be for bed time, but I love it. I can see this being both dressed up like the look I've put together or dressed down with a white cami and jeans. It's such a staple piece and I want it in my life so bad!

Maybe once my MOT is over and done with next month, I'll treat myself :)

Mint Floral Nails

I have let my nail art game down over the last few months, so I decided that I would start up again with the help of a nail colour wheel and nail art dotter from eBay.

My first project I knew would be something to do with flowers. So I picked 3 colours, set aside some time and got down to some serious nail art.

For this I used Barry M, Ciate Pillow Fight and Rimmel.

Starting with Pillow Fight for a base.

I then took my dotter, drew an X with my Rimmel and then made a star to get neat petals all the way around.

Finishing with a yellow dot for the middle of the flowers and a slick of a clear top coat.

And there you have it, super summery nails in 3 easy steps. Not a bad start I reckon.

Lemon Ends

Is anybody else out there as obsessed with the colour yellow as I am?

Yellow coats
Yellow bikinis
Yellow shoes
& Yellow nails....

I found this Barry M nail polish on Xtras for super cheap, so I couldn't help myself. It's really bright, creamy and super yellow! Perfect for summer.

I'm thinking some sunflower or daisy nail art will go down beautifully this summer and this will certainly be used for it. What do you think?

Friday Favourites #29

I don't know if you've seen it yet, but there's a new collection on Bank that I cannot get enough of! The Pink Soda collection is perfect for summer and this dress I've featured today in this week's Friday Favourites ticks all my boxes for summer, especially now that I have some lovely highlights in my hair.
I'd do check out the collection if I were you, it's very girly and versatile, just gorgeous really.

After a traumatic month, I chewed my nails off! All that work I'd done with Renunail ruined. And I'm struggling to get back in the nail growing swing of things.

So when I saw these Ted Baker nails over on In The Frow's blog, I couldn't resist. They're just so gorgeous!

Friday Favourites #27

I'm really loving Spring colour at the moment, especially pink. So when I saw this dusty pink gingham dress from Missguided, I knew I had a new Friday Favourites to start. It's summery, girly and would look so good with those chunky white heels from River Island!

Make Them Shine - Ciate Glitter

I saw this look on a fashion edit in a magazine last year and ever since I haven't got it out of my mind.

It's quite a simple look really but I think it's just beautiful.

I took my favourite base coat from Nailtiques and applied a layer.

Then it was time for some serious glitter. I took Party Shoes from Ciate and applied 2 layers of this onto my nails. Then sealed with my Speed Top Coat.

Renunail - My Nail Transformation

Over the last few weeks I have gone on a journey to longer, prettier nails.

Fed up of wearing falsies and making jokes about how (not) gorgeous my chewed up stubs looked, I wanted to finally take on this bad habit and nip it in the bud.

This is where Renunail comes in.

The Dr Lewinn's Renunail Original Nail Strengthener eliminates peeling, flaking and chipping whilst working on nail strength, growth and health. You start the process with 2 layers of Renunail on your first day, followed by 5-6 days of 1 layer. Once the week is up, you remove with nail varnish remover and start the process again over the next 4 weeks. You should leave your nails for a 2 week break in between months.

How did my Renunail treatment go? Pretty amazingly! Beka's beauty, beauty and fashion blogger from Manchester and Cheshire.

So here is my before and after... Pretty impressive I think

As well as Renunail just generally being amazing for your nails, for me as a nail biter, the ritual of adding a layer every day and seeing them grow so fast really helped with stopping chewing on them.

I would showcase my nails to everyone I could and soon started painting them. Now I can't get enough of my new, healthy and long nails. Everyone has noticed how nice they look now and I feel so much more like a girl now.

I can't recommend Renunail enough. If you're a nail biter like me or your nails are suffering in the cold weather, then give Renunail a go.

Silver Band Nails with Ciate

I am obsessed with doing my nails atm.

One. I love picking a new colour, sitting myself down and having a half hour quiet session doing my nails. It's like meditating.

Two, it helps with my nail biting. I haven't chewed on my precious ten in over a month now and painting my nails not only reminds me of how pretty they are long, but when I get a bit fiddly and stressed out, I can pick the nail polish off rather than biting my nails. Problem solved.

So my latest manicure uses a brighter shade than my recent colours of late. A baby pink from Ciate with a silver french tip on my feature nail.

I always, always, always put a base coat on when I put a new nail polish on. I'm currently using the Nailtiques Protein Formula 1, created for flexible and brittle nails. It has left my nails so strong after just a few uses and my once bendy nails are now as hard as, well, *nails*.

I had to do 4 layers of this Ciate nail polish to get an opaque finish. I'm putting this down to the fact that it's a light shade but Ciate polishes dry fast and don't smudge easily so this is a non-issue really.

Silver glitter from Locket then goes onto my ring finger and is sealed in with the Ciate Speed Coat.

I wonder what my next meditation session will hold. Feeling creative.

Saffron Nails - Bargain Buy

Since I've managed to stop biting my nails and grow them, nail polishes are back on the menu for me and I've scouted out an amazing little purchase whilst on a girly shopping trip in Warrington.

There were so many colours to choose from but I went for this gorgeous iridescent burgundy shade that's really up my street at the moment. At just over £1 I was chuffed with this little purchase.

After two coats I got a glossy, streak free finish that hasn't chipped now for 4 days. Pretty Impressed. I don't think this will be my last purchase from Saffron anytime soon.

New Year With Firework Nails

So I've been growing my nails for a while now with Renunail from Lookfantastic & I've also just received some gorgeous polishes in my Ciate Mini Mani Advent Calendar, so I was feeling creative and decided to team up some of the polishes and create a nail look worthy of bringing in 2014.

The first step involved the Nailtiques Formula 1, which is great for nails that are flexible and brittle like mine are at the moment. This acted as the perfect base coat for this look.

Then it was time for colour, opting for a classic pillar box red called Boudoir, I added just one layer of this to get the coverage I wanted. Much credit to Ciate's formulas.

Then with my chosen nail, I added the Ciate Speed Coat and poured on Miss Mistletoe, a beautiful, warm glitter of reds, golds and pinks. Messy business, but worth it for the pay off. I sealed in the glitter with the same Speet Coat and applied a layer onto the rest of my nails too.

There we have it, super sparkly, firework inspired nails! Just in time for New Year!!

Happy New Year everyone!
A year of blogging has flown by and I have loved it!
