e.l.f Porcelain Tinted Moisturiser Review

Yes, another tinted moisturiser has made it into my life...

This e.l.f Tinted Moisturiser caught my eye a few weeks ago and I've only just had the time to get round to photographing it. It was hard to put down my L'Oreal CC Cream, but I love trying out new things so it had to happen.

If I'm totally honest with you, I was a little disappointed with this. I bought Porcelain because I've been weening myself off the fake tan recently, so thought this shade would be ideal for my pale skin. However, as always with tinted moisturisers, it was still just too tinted for my skin. I could get away with it when I used a pale powder underneath, but for the most part I just wasn't happy. If I applied too much I would just be an orange mess...

Can anyone point me in the direction of a good foundation, tinted moisturiser or cc cream that works for pale skin?

  1. I'm very pale, and through massively expensive trial and error I've found the following work for me: Lola liquid foundation in B030, Bobbi Brown skin foundation in alabaster, NARS sheer matte in Siberia.
On the high street I have No 7 beautifully matte in Calico and L'Oreal True Match in rose ivory but those two are still slightly too dark but I can wear them if it's nighttime! Didn't realise they were too dark until I found the high end brands!

    1. Wow, what a list! Thanks for letting me know about there, I'm going to have to check them out. Gutted that it's the expensive ones that win though :( x

  4. I found the same as you with this product. I'm loving the Clinique Moisture Surge CC cream in Very Light at the minute, it's just gorgeous and evens out redness too. I can get away with wearing it alone with no concealer x

  5. Max Factor CC cream is good, I forget the shade name but I've mentioned on my blog somewhere. I'm currently using Soap & Glory 2 in 1 foundation/primer in fairest of them all, also an excellent choice xx

  6. I use to have this problem all the time too! For several years now I have been using Glo Minerals Satin ll in Natural Fair. It is a complete coverage so I have found if I mix it with a moisturizer I get the sheer coverage I love and it's perfect! They do actually make a sheer foundation which I have never tried. I really like this combo and like that I can add more or less moisturizer. Just depends what kind of coverage I need for the day! I have only used it with one moisturizer, Source Naturals Hyaluronic Serum. You may want to test these out. Also because Glow Minerals is so concentrated and rich in pigment I find it last me a long time as I just mix a drop with a drop of the moisturizer.
